Mewar University Organized a free Eye Check-Up Camp

On 1st March 2023, Gomabai netralaya organized a free eye check-up camp in memory of late social worker Shri Bhanwar Lal ji and Nandlal Lal ji Gadiya with courtesy of Shree Seva Sansthan, Nimbahera at Mewar University Hospital in Gangrar. The purpose of this camp was to provide free eye check-ups and consultations to people who cannot afford them. 
The Gomabai netralaya team, led by Dr. Rajat Chaudhary, worked closely with the Mewar University Hospital administration to organize the camp. The camp was inaugurated by the Honourable Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Member of Parliament and former Cabinet Minister (Health and Family Welfare), Government of India. On this occasion, Honourable MP C.P. Joshi, District Collector Dr. Arvind Poswal, Chancellor of Mewar University Dr. Ashok Kumar Gadiya, Vice Chancellor Professor (Dr.) Alok Misra and other guests were present. The free eye check-up camp started at 9:00 AM and continued until 4:00 PM. The camp was set up at Mewar University Hospital, and it was well-organized with separate registration and consultation areas. The hospital staff and volunteers from Gomabai Netralaya were present to provide assistance to the patients.
 
The free eye check-up camp provided a range of services to the patients, including Eye Examination, Consultation, Medicines, and Spectacles. The free eye check-up camp was a great success. Over 393 patients from different age groups and socio-economic backgrounds attended the camp of which 167 patients were selected for an eye operation. The patients were very happy with the services provided and appreciated the efforts of the organizers. The camp was especially helpful for underprivileged people who cannot afford regular eye check-ups and treatment. The camp also helped to create awareness among the people about the importance of eye care and regular eye check-ups.
 
The free eye check-up camp organized by Gomabai Netralaya, Neemuch, in collaboration with Mewar University Hospital, was a great success. The camp provided much-needed eye care services to underprivileged people who cannot afford it. The organizers should be commended for their efforts in organizing this camp, and it is hoped that more such camps will be organized in the future to help people maintain good eye health.
